Local UK History aims to offer websites that are designed to a high standard but at an affordable price.
The Society is free to arrange a Website sponsorship from local businesses or other interested bodies. There is space on the left hand column to insert one or two 162px wide advert/s.
Local UK History is happy to assist in the creation of such adverts.
The price structure for a basic website is as follows:
Basic Website
- From £150.00 – Once off design and set-up charge (includes 1st year of annual hosting charge)
- From £90.00/year – Annual hosting charge thereafter
Notes:
- The basic price is based on the same page layout design as the Local UK History website, but with a unique banner at the top to reflect the Society and the changing of the site colour scheme where required.
- The Basic Website allows for the insertion of unlimited:
- Headings
- Text
- Images
- Horizontal Lines
- Web Links
- Documents for downloading
- Tables
- Multimedia (Podcasts and Video)
- New Pages (See note 4 below)
- The Basic Website also has one of the following, but additional ones can be added:
- Database Feed (For example to list publications)
- Photo Album
- Input Form
- While we do not limit the number of pages that a website can have the annual hosting charge will be reviewed for high bulk sites (eg lots of images or documents) or high traffic sites.
- The annual hosting charge provides space on our server, bandwidth and peace of mind knowing the technicalities are taken care off.
Advert Creation (Optional)
Prices start from £30 for a a basic 162px wide by 100px high advert.

Domain Names
To purchase on the client’s behalf:
- £5/each/year – For .co.uk or .org.uk domains
- £15/each/year – For .com or .org domains
To transfer domains from another ISP to be held in trust by MC Webs
- £10/each – Once off set-up charge for .co.uk or .org.uk domains
- £30/each – Once off set-up charge for .com or .org domains (with a years extension being added to the domain registration)
Note:
- Domain names are renewable every 2 years, however 50% of the renewal cost is charged annually so that the annual amount due remains consistent.
Email (Optional)
To set-up a domain to be used as an email address with a POP3 box:
- £30.00 – Once off set-up fee
- £20/year – Thereafter
NB. Prices are as stated - i.e. no VAT!
